PEMRA suspended licence of Geo & ARY News 2014

On friday 20th June 2014 PEMRA final decision was announced. It was said to suspended the license of both channels ARY & Geo News. ARY received a suspension of licence of 15 days where as Geo receives a suspension of 30 days plus imposing 1 crore fine to each channel. The matter was violation of legal act due to onairing irrelevant programs and pointing towards irrelevant news related to government and other channels. Both channels committed the same thing.

The authority also announce to banned "Utho Jago Pakistan" host shaista lodhi and team plus rebrodcasting their previous program. As for ARY news the program Khara Sach has been targeted ban along the senior anchor person Mubashar lucman onairing malicious content and irrelevant content planned as targeting personalities and asset. The decision will be forward to both channels through a letter so they will take immediate steps and act according to PEMRA rules.
