The drama has been written/ directed by Nadia Ashfaq and Asim Ali. The story revolves around the life of Malika e Aliya who wants to preserve her name and rule. She wants to live up to that level she plays numerous tactics after her marriage to Sultan. 

Watch the Pakistani version of Mera sultan in Mailka e Aliya coming soon to geo tv. The story line is much similar to another popular drama serial of Geo kahani "Mera sultan" a turkish urdu dubbed drama. The character which Maria wasti is to perform is the one which is performed as Hurrem.
