Mah e Mir based on the life and the 'Ka'laam' of poet Mir Taqi Mir. The movie is inspired by the work of Mir Taqi Mir, the first classical master of Urdu poetry. Mah-e-Meer meaning the promiscuous moon is a story that follows the struggle of a contemporary poet and draws parallels with events in Mir’s life.
